Throughout her extensive medical career, Dr. Suzanne Gazda has uniquely combined a dedication to outstanding care with an authentic commitment to patients as people first. From this desire to find more ways to achieve wellness as a means of treating illness, providing you with individualized solutions specific to your health. It’s more than Dr. Gazda’s profession. It’s her passion.

Renowned by peers and patients alike, Dr. Gazda offers a lifetime of experiences and experience that can best be summed up as truly extraordinary. From her first days of study at the University of Texas Health Science Center to the founding of the Neurology Institute of San Antonio (NISA). Drawing too upon her specialized efforts in multiple sclerosis treatment and in clinical research, Dr. Gazda has the most diverse professional – and personal - perspective on neurological disorders.

Her deep dive into a systems-based approach that addresses the root cause of disease, as well as extensive study and research extends her integrative medicine capabilities with clinically-proven therapies for many neurological disorders and conditions. Dr. Gazda is additionally certified in the Bredesen™ protocol[1] , a personalized and research-backed program of treatment for Alzheimer’s and related cognitive diseases. Her focus as well on multiple sclerosis, emulating the work of leaders such as Dr. Terry Wahls, offers additional treatment innovation. For patients seeking care plans that address total body factors that impact disease progression, integrative medicine affords more opportunities for individualized solutions.

Always thinking globally with compassion and commitment, she has taken her skills to distant locales, studying neurological disorders in places where access to care and research is limited. Her work with Hope for Humans has made a profound impact on the lives of so many children and families with far-reaching implications for appropriate treatments for even the most complex neurological disorders.

Compassionate Care for Extraordinary Needs

"No experience in my 30 years as a neurologist has educated me as profoundly as did my work in Northern Uganda from 2012-2017 with children suffering from a bizarre neurological disease called Nodding Syndrome."  It was destiny that guided  her  on a high school field trip with her daughters to Uganda and  in 2012 she stumbled upon a bizarre neurological disease called Nodding Syndrome affecting thousands of previously healthy children in remote villages of Northern Uganda.
She sadly soon found that these children had been abandoned by their country and the world.  She set up and self funded a non profit called  HOPE FOR HUMANS  in 2012  to offer children as well as their families a range of support with medical care, education, nutrition, hope and love.  Dr Gazda believes these children acquired an environmentally induced neuro-developmental disorder that here in America we call autism. She tirelessly advocated for these children around the world , speaking before Congress,  the Ugandan Parliament, the CDC, WHO and at many Universities. Her organization was forced to close in Dec of 2017 due to lack of funding.  She has never stopped advocating for the Nodding Syndrome victims.
