 FAQ

Do I need a referral?
You may or may not need a referral based on your specific insurance coverage. Please review your policy benefits or contact us for assistance.

Should I already have a diagnosis or can Dr. Gazda make a diagnosis?
Dr. Gazda’s practice is focused on neurological disease, but you do not need to have a diagnosis prior to being seen.

If I already have lab work, how recently must these tests have been performed?
We recommend you bring any paperwork showing recent (within the last three months) studies performed. Our evaluation at Gazda Integrative Neurology is personalized and labs, diagnostic studies, neuroimaging and any other testing will be discussed as part of your plan of care.

What if I don’t live in a city where you have offices?
We do recommend patients be seen in-person for the initial visit to establish care and once each year ongoing. Subsequent visits can be conducted using our Telemedicine capabilities. If an in-person visit is not possible, please contact our office to inquire about alternate options. While Dr. Gazda can consult with patients remotely, she is not able to prescribe medications outside of Texas or Colorado.

If I travel to your location, where can I stay?
There are numerous area hotels close to our San Antonio, Texas location and planned Colorado office in Boulder. We currently don’t have a discounted or other arrangement with any particular hotel group so we encourage you to please visit a travel site to identify options that fit your needs and budget.

Does my primary care physician have to be located in the same state as one of your offices?
No, but every patient must have a primary care doctor and, in some instances, a neurologist local to your home town (as applicable).

Can you consult with other health professionals in my home town to oversee treatment?
Yes, Dr. Gazda can work with local medical professionals as needed to facilitate a care plan.

If I have to be hospitalized or receive treatment elsewhere will Dr. Gazda share my records with doctors or other medical facilities?
Gazda Integrative Neurology will share with those medical professionals you designate on your records or as needed in the event of any emergencies. Our staff is available to assist you with any questions regarding sharing of information.

Does Dr. Gazda MD provide or sell recommended supplements?
We can help you with recommendations for specific supplements at the time of your visit.
