MEET DR. SUZANNE GAZDA

A look at long COVID, today and tomorrow.

The need to understand the implications of the COVID crisis, both present-day and what appears to be an ongoing, is something that so many of us are dealing with on a daily basis. For patients and their families, friends, or caregivers, the concerns are as diverse and numerous as the questions. And for clinicians working with these patients who are now experiencing the phenomenon of “long COVID,” it’s important to continue learning and communicating valid information about this condition in order to best help the individuals we treat.

As noted in many journals and studies, and as we’ve seen in our own practice, many of the impacts are neurological. Therefore, our series regarding long COVID is intended to hopefully provide more perspective and information as we too continue to learn and better understand the condition.

Many experts caution that the effect of another chronic disorder on our global health systems will be significant, making it even more important that research continues and more answers as well as treatment protocols are identified. As always, we encourage you to consult your family physician with questions specific to your health needs and of course, we welcome your inquiries – please let us know if we can help!
